Osteopathy is a a hands-on holistic medicine dating back to the early 1900's with influences going back thousands of years. Its aim is to positively affect the body's nervous, circulatory and lymphatic systems, whilst respecting the bodies inherent ability to heal. Osteopathic treatment does not target symptoms but looks for the cause of the complaint. Through a detailed case history, postural observation and examination, an understanding of the person is built up. Osteopathic listening techniques enable the practitioner to aid healing and promote well being.
